One bicycle kick and Wayne Rooney is suddenly considered to be invigorated. It's almost a year since the striker's season came a cropper in Europe, so what better way to make up for a torrid 12 months than by firing United into the quarter-finals.

At 7.0 the Red Devils are third favourites behind Barcelona and Real Madrid for this season's Champions League. Marseille are 126.0 to emulate their feat of 1993.

In the past Manchester United have had their problems in France (remember Monaco 1998) but overall their record across the channel is strong. In 24 games in France they've lost just two, and on the road have suffered just one loss in their last 20 away European games.

Hill's price United at 2.15 to win this evening and a very thin 1.22 to progress in the tie. Marseille have their very own ex-United star in Gabriel Heinze in their ranks who enraged Alex Ferguson with his demand to leave Old Trafford for Anfield.

The defender has this week said he regrets the feud and Fergie has since praised him as a 'warrior'. No doubt the love-in won't last long if Heinze pops up from defence with a goal where he's 34.0 to grab the opener and 13.0 to score during the 90 minutes.

Buoyed by his spectacular winner against Man City it's Mr Rooney who looks the value at 2.0 to score during the match. Don't rule out a red card in the game as has been witnessed already in the Champions League last 16 games.
